Netflix has dropped the first teaser trailer for “The Electric State”, a highly anticipated sci-fi adventure film directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, known for directing several MCU films including Avengers: Endgame and Netflix original The Gray Man.
The film is based on Simon Stålenhag’s graphic novel of the same name and stars Millie Bobby Brown, Chris Pratt, Ke Huy Quan, Giancarlo Esposito, Stanley Tucci, and a talented ensemble cast.
The Electric State is set in a retro-futuristic version of the 1990s. The story follows a young woman named Michelle (Brown) who embarks on a perilous journey across a robot-ravaged America. Accompanied by a mysterious toy robot and a roguish smuggler (Pratt), they set out on a cross-country road trip to find Michelle’s younger brother.
The teaser trailer showcases stunning visuals, captivating action sequences, and a glimpse into the film’s unique and imaginative world, behind the mournful cover of Oasis’ “Champagne Supernova”. It offers a blend of nostalgia and sci-fi elements, promising a thrilling and visually stunning cinematic experience.
The film also features the voices of Anthony Mackie, Woody Harrelson, Brian Cox, Jenny Slate, and Alan Tudyk as the robots. “The Electric State” is scheduled to hit Netflix on March 14, 2025.
