Transsion, OPPO, and realme are the top 3 smartphone vendors in the Philippines, reports Canalys.
Transsion retains its position at the top of the Philippine smartphone market in the third quarter of 2024, according to the latest data from Canalys. The company, composed of smartphone brands Infinix, TECNO, and itel, achieved a significant 33% market share, fueled by a remarkable 49% annual growth.
Meanwhile, OPPO has secured the second position with a 16% market share. The company’s strong performance was driven by the popularity of its A-series devices. Notably, OPPO’s impressive growth has pushed it from outside the top five in the previous quarter to the second spot.
realme followed closely behind in third place with a 16% market share, an impressive rise from last quarter’s second spot, propelled by value-laden devices at affordable prices and its focus on the local gaming community.
Xiaomi retained its fourth position, capturing 12% of the market. Samsung, once a dominant player at second, has slipped to the fifth spot with an 11% share.
The global smartphone market also saw positive growth in Q3 2024, with shipments increasing by 5% year-on-year. This marks the fourth consecutive quarter of growth, signaling a continued recovery for the industry.
