iPhones and Samsung Galaxy devices have fastest data speeds on this PH network, says report

iPhone and Samsung Galaxy users in the Philippines are experiencing the fastest data speeds, thanks to Smart Communications.

According to Ookla’s Speedtest Connectivity Report for the first half of 2024, these devices achieved the highest median download speeds on Smart’s network.

iPhone users enjoyed a median download speed of 70.64 Mbps, while Samsung Galaxy users experienced speeds of 52.57 Mbps. This solidifies Smart’s position as the fastest mobile network for these popular smartphone brands.

In terms of overall network speed, Smart emerged as the fastest mobile network in the country, with a speed score of 69.52, outpacing both Globe (45.99) and DITO (54.43). Smart also led in median upload speed and latency.

When it comes to consistency, Globe took the lead with 85.5% of its samples meeting or exceeding the 5 Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload threshold. Smart and DITO followed closely with 83.8% and 80.4%, respectively.

Smart also excelled in video experience, scoring 69.19. Globe and DITO followed with scores of 67.63 and 66.72, respectively.

For gaming, DITO emerged as the top performer with a score of 76.04 and a median game latency of 100 ms. Smart and Globe closely trailed with scores of 74.38 and 73.02, respectively.

Finally, Speedtest users in the Philippines rated DITO highest in consumer sentiment with a score of 3.74 out of 5. Smart and Globe received scores of 3.38 and 3.3, respectively.
