Marvel has just unveiled the official trailer for Fantastic Four: First Steps. The video is less than a minute long but gives us a glimpse at the main characters, including Marvel’s First Family’s robot, H.E.R.B.I.E.

The movie is set in a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world where we are introduced to Marvel’s First Family — Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn), and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach).
The trailer also offers us a quick glimpse of Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and John Malkovich, who is reported to portray Ivan Kragoff, aka the Red Ghost, one of FF’s oldest villains.
Before First Steps, Marvel’s First Family previously had two other iterations in the past, both from 20th Century Fox. The 2005 film starred Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, and Michael Chiklis. It grossed over $330.6 million.
The 2015 version had Miles Teller, Kata Mara, Michael B. Jordan, and Jamie Bell. The movie grossed only $167.9 million with a 9% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Evans also reprised his role as the Human Torch in a surprise cameo in the 2024 movie Deadpool & Wolverine.
Fantastic Four: First Steps is directed by Matt Shakman, produced by Kevin Feige, and executive-produced by Louis D’Esposito, Grant Curtis, and Tim Lewis. The movie opens in theaters on July 25, 2025.
