‘No crease detected’: OPPO Find N5 promises crease-free display

It looks like OPPO is gearing up to make a huge splash in the foldable smartphone market with its upcoming Find N5. According to OPPO Chief Product Officer Pete Lau, the Find N5 will feature an extremely flat and clean display, with minimal to no crease, a common issue found on foldable devices.

OPPO Find N5 vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6

In a recent teaser, Lau posts “No crease detected,” showing an image of the Find N5 beside what appears to be the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6. The emphasis was on the displays of the two foldable phones, with the former showing an incredibly flat panel with virtually no visible crease. “None on the OPPO Find N5.”

Of course, we have to see it to believe it. But if this holds, this development will address one of the most common criticisms of foldable phones — the visible crease at the folding point.

While its official specs and features are still under wraps, rumors suggest the device will be incredibly thin, measuring just 4.2mm when unfolded. In comparison, 2024’s thinnest foldable phone, the HONOR Magic V3, is only 4.35mm thick.

The foldable is also speculated to have an 8-inch LTPO OLED main display with a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, a 6.4-inch cover display, and a triple camera setup. Internally, it could come with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, paired with a 5,600 mAh battery supporting 80W wired charging.

The OPPO Find N5 is expected to launch in China this February. More details will likely emerge as the official unveiling draws near. Stay tuned for more updates.
