ASUS has just launched its latest line of Copilot+ PCs in the Philippines, and leading the pack is the ASUS Vivobook S16 S3607Q. This sleek machine is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon X, and it boasts a 16-inch 2.5K IPS display with a smooth 144Hz refresh rate, plus a 70Wh battery, all for just ₱50,995.
We put the Vivobook S16 to the test to see if it lives up to the hype and whether it’s the right device for you. Here’s what we found. Let’s dive in.
Design and Build

The Vivobook S16 is a sleek 16-inch laptop with a modern, lightweight design. Despite its large display, it measures just 14.06 x 9.87 x 0.70 inches (tapering down to 0.63 inches at its thinnest point) and weighs around 3.84 lbs.
That makes it impressively portable for its size, a big plus for on-the-go professionals who want a spacious screen without the bulk.
The lid and bottom chassis are made of metal, while the keyboard deck and palm rest are finished with a premium plastic material. The lid also has the CNC-engraved logo, which further adds to its appeal.
The overall build feels solid and durable, with minimal flex. ASUS also claims military-grade durability, which adds peace of mind for everyday use.

The backlit keyboard features a full layout, including a dedicated Copilot key and a number pad, though the keys there are slightly smaller.
Typing feels great, thanks to the 1.7mm key travel, which provides a satisfying tactile response even during long sessions. Moreover, the backlighting is bright and stands out nicely against the black keycaps, which is a common issue among ASUS laptops with silver keys.
The touchpad is spacious and has a smooth surface. While it’s not made of glass, it still feels premium, especially for a Vivobook. It has a 0.23mm click depth with a satisfying tactile (and quiet) feedback. It also supports multi-touch gestures and includes swipe controls for quick volume and brightness adjustments along the left and right edges.

As for audio, the downward-firing speakers are located beneath the chassis. Sound quality is decent. Audio is good enough for everyday tasks like video calls, streaming, or casual listening.
Display
The Vivobook S16 features a 16-inch 2.5K IPS display with a crisp 2560×1600 resolution, a smooth 144Hz refresh rate, and a productivity-friendly 16:10 aspect ratio. With a peak brightness of 400 nits and a matte finish, it effectively reduces glare and minimizes eye strain, ideal for long hours of use.

Color reproduction is another strong point. The panel covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut, delivering vibrant colors and deep blacks that make everything from creative work to casual streaming look good.
I/O Ports
For a laptop of this size, you’d expect a solid selection of ports. And the Vivobook S16 delivers, covering most connectivity needs for work, entertainment, and peripherals.
On the left side, it has two high-speed USB-C 4.0 Gen 3 ports, a full-sized HDMI 2.1 TMDS, a USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 port, and a 3.5mm combo audio jack. On the right is the other USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 port.

One notable omission, however, is the microSD card slot. Depending on your workflow, this could either be a minor inconvenience or something you won’t even miss.
Performance
The Vivobook S16 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon X processor with up to 30W CPU TDP, paired with an Adreno GPU, a Hexagon NPU capable of up to 45TOPS, 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and 512GB of PCIe 4.0 SSD. It runs on Windows 11 Home and comes with Microsoft Office Home 2024.

Despite the ARM architecture, the Vivobook S16 can run x86 apps through a software emulation layer called Prism. According to Microsoft, around 90% of the time people spend on apps today is within software that’s already natively supported on Snapdragon X chips. That means most everyday apps run smoothly and efficiently on this platform. Still, if your workflow depends on a specific software, it’s best to double-check compatibility.
In terms of real-world performance, the Vivobook S16 handled daily tasks, like web browsing, document editing, and streaming, without any hiccups. That said, this laptop isn’t built for gaming, so if that’s what you’re after, you’ll want to look elsewhere.
One of the highlights of the Snapdragon X chip is its ability to maintain high performance even on battery power. In our Geekbench 6 benchmark tests, the Vivobook S16 scored 10,316 points while plugged in, and an impressive 10,030 points when running unplugged.

That minimal drop-off highlights the chip’s efficiency and consistency, making it ideal for users who need reliable performance on the go.
Battery
The Vivobook S16 packs a 70Wh 3-cell Li-ion battery. ASUS claims it can last up to 32 hours, but that’s likely under ideal conditions: low brightness, light workloads, and efficiency mode enabled.

That said, the laptop is impressively power-efficient. Of course, real-world battery life will vary depending on your usage and settings, but it consistently holds up well across different tasks.
It also comes with a compact 65W AC adapter that’s easy to slip into a bag, perfect for users who are always on the move. However, in our testing, we rarely felt the need to bring the charger with us.
With moderate use, including browsing, writing, light photo editing, streaming, and the occasional email, we comfortably got almost two days of use on a single charge. Moreover, standby battery drain was also impressively minimal.
Final Remarks
ASUS’ Vivobook line has long delivered affordable, capable laptops for everyday use, and the Vivobook S16 continues this tradition.

This is a highly capable machine for on-the-go productivity. Despite its large 16-inch display, it’s lightweight and easy to carry, though you might need a slightly larger bag or sleeve for it.
Moreover, if battery life is a top priority, the Vivobook S16 delivers in spades. And for ₱50,995, it offers solid value for what you get.
That said, software compatibility remains a potential limitation. While most commonly used apps run smoothly, thanks to native support and Prism emulation, those who rely on specific programs should verify compatibility first.
Still, for users looking for a large, portable laptop with strong battery life and forward-looking AI integration, the Vivobook S16 is a compelling choice without breaking the bank.
