The Redmi Note 15 5G recently debuted in the Philippines to kick off 2026 with a bang. The mid-range phone offered solid specs, including a 108MP main camera, a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, and a 5520mAh silicon carbon battery, all at a competitive starting price of PHP 13,999.
The handset looks good on paper, but how does it perform in real life? Let’s find out.
Design & Display
The Redmi Note 15 5G departs from the design language of the Note 14 5G with a refreshed look seen across Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO devices, including the POCO M8 Pro we recently reviewed.

The phone features a curved display and back panel. The build is solid, despite the plastic hand feel. The device is sleek, measuring 164 x 75.42 x 7.35 mm and weighing just 178 g. It has a slim profile and offers a comfortable and more natural grip.
Our review unit came in the classic Black color with rounded corners and a large squircle-shaped camera module. It has four camera cutouts at the back, but only three appear to be functioning, with two sensors and an LED flash. The phone also comes in Glacier Blue and Mist Purple colors.

The Note 15 5G has a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 3200 nits.
The screen offers vibrant colors and deep blacks with TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light and Flicker Free certifications for eye health. Outdoor visibility is good, even under direct sunlight.

Durability and longevity are key features. The phone has a bigger battery capacity with a high endurance rating of up to 1600 charging cycles. While the build is drop-resistant with a high-strength motherboard and reinforced mid-frame.
The glass screen is reinforced and can withstand up to 1.7m face-down drops onto hard surfaces like marble. It also has an IP66 rating for dust and water resistance, allowing the phone to brush off splashes of water and rain.

Apart from the display and design, the Note 15 5G is equipped with dual speakers, a USB-C port, and a responsive in-display fingerprint scanner. Back to the speakers, the sound quality is average, which is fine for watching videos.
Performance & Battery
The Note 15 5G offers impressive performance with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor. It is a mid-range chipset, capable of handling everyday tasks, including casual gaming.
Our test unit had 8GB of RAM (with 4GB extended RAM) and 256GB of storage. It runs on HyperOS 2, based on Android 15. Like most devices under Xiaomi, this came with a lot of bloatware. It slows down the initial setup, but you can just uninstall or disable what you won’t use.

On the update front, you’re getting up to six years of security patches. Which means its software is safe to use until January 2032.
Every day usage is smooth. Throughout our review, we did not encounter any issues. For gaming, you can play most titles in default or low-to-medium graphics settings.
For benchmark scores, here are the results:
- AnTuTu Benchmark v11: 849,069
- Geekbench 6: 1,016 single-core / 2,969 multi-core
- 3DMarkWild Life: 3,272

Battery Life & Charging
The phone has a 5520mAh silicon-carbon battery with 45W fast charging and 18W reverse charging. It does not support wireless charging. In our review, it showed good endurance.
With regular use that includes a mix of video streaming, social media, messaging apps, and web browsing, it can last a day. It can be extended by cutting down on usage.

In the PC Mark Work 3.0 Battery Life test, the Note 15 5G managed 15 hours and 55 minutes. The test was done with brightness set at 80 percent, volume muted, refresh rate set to default, and airplane mode turned on. This translates to 13 hours and 28 minutes of screen-on time.
Charging speeds were fast. With the bundled 45w charger, a full charge from zero to 100 percent took about an hour and 25 minutes.
Camera Performance
The Note 15 5G is equipped with a dual camera system, pairing a 108MP main sensor with an 8MP ultra-wide lens. Up front, it has a 20MP selfie camera housed under a hole-punch cutout.

The photo quality was better than expected. In bright lighting conditions, details and textures look good. However, zooming in past 3x will introduce some smudging and “watercolor” effects.
Colors have a natural look with some slight boosting to the reds and greens for added pop. The dynamic range is decent, but nowhere near flagship level. In high-contrast scenes, the HDR does a fair job of keeping the sky from being totally white, but you lose some detail in the shadows.
Shots from the ultra-wide sensor have accurate colors, but the images appear softer and less detailed. Low-light shots are average with some noise and glare. Night mode has some noise and grain as well, but the colors are okay. The selfie camera offers pleasant skin tones with great details.
Overall, photos from the Note 15 5G will look good for social media sharing, especially the shots from the main camera.

Closing Remarks
At the end of the day, budget seekers should keep an eye on the Redmi Note 15 5G. For the price, it is a solid option in the very crowded mid-range space. It offers good value with a slim design, decent cameras, extended update policies, and long battery life.
Like most Redmi phones, drawbacks include pre-installed bloatware, which can affect the overall experience, and the plastic build, which is a minor nitpick.
