HONOR has unveiled the Magic V5, its latest foldable smartphone and the thinnest in its lineup. The device measures just 8.8mm when folded and an ultra-slim 4.1mm when unfolded, thinner than the previous Magic V3.
The Magic V5 is more durable with a Carbon Fiber Reinforced Display, an Anti-scratch NanoCrystal Shield, and a steel hinge rated at 2300MPa tensile strength. It also carries IP58 and IP59 ratings for dust and water resistance.
Powering the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The foldable inner display spans 7.95 inches, while the outer cover display measures 6.43 inches.
For imaging, the Magic V5 is equipped with a triple rear camera setup: a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 64MP telephoto lens. Both the inner and outer displays feature a 20MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.
The phone is backed by a 5,820mAh silicon-carbon battery, which allows for its slim profile. It supports 66W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. The 1TB model sports a bigger 6100mAh capacity.
Price and Availability
The HONOR Magic V5 will be available in four colors: Ivory White, Black, Dawn Gold, and Reddish Brown.
Pre-orders begin in China on July 2, with prices starting at RMB 8,999 (₱70,830 or USD 1,256). A global release is expected later this year, though specific dates have not been confirmed.
