The University of the Philippines (UP) is still the highest-ranking university in the country, placing 362nd globally in the QS World University Rankings 2026. Despite falling from last year’s 336th spot, its best since 2012, UP stays ahead of other Philippine schools.
Released by UK-based Quacquarelli Symonds, the rankings highlight UP’s strong performance in employment outcomes (80.8/100) and employer reputation (71.1/100). The university also scored well in sustainability (68.9), international research (66.4), academic reputation (50.6), and faculty-to-student ratio (42.7).
Several Philippine universities made the list as well, including Ateneo de Manila University (511th), De La Salle University (654th), University of Santo Tomas (851st–900th), Adamson University (1001st–1200th), and Mapua University (1401st and above).
UP’s global rank has shifted over the years, hitting a low of 412th in 2023. But it consistently leads in research, academics, and graduate success.
Its ranking reflects UP’s continued focus on excellence and public service under Republic Act No. 9500.
