vivo Y500 unveiled with huge 8,200mAh battery, Dimensity 7300 chip

It features a big battery, Dimensity 7300, and IP69 durability.

vivo has launched the Y500 in China, a mid-range phone with a massive 8,200mAh battery and MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor. It’s built for long use and solid performance, starting at CNY 1,399 (around ₱11,270 or $196).

The Y500’s battery is its biggest feature. vivo says it can last over 18 hours on a single charge. It supports 90W fast charging and includes safety features to prevent overheating and overvoltage.

The phone has a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also comes with dual speakers, face unlock, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

For durability, the Y500 is rated IP69. It can handle water, dust, and high-pressure sprays. It also has internal shock protection and reinforced Diamond Shield glass.

The device runs OriginOS 15 based on Android 15. Color options include Black, Blue, and Purple.

Camera specs include a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP depth sensor on the back. The front has an 8MP selfie camera in a punch-hole design.

There’s no word yet on global release. For now, the Y500 is available in China. Pricing starts at CNY 1,399 (₱11,270 / $196) for the 8GB+128GB model, and all the way up to CNY 1,999 (₱16,100 / $280) for the top-end 12GB+512GB model.
