Xiaomi has officially launched the Xiaomi 17, marking the first smartphone to feature Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. The device also packs a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with 100W wired charging, 50W wireless, and 22.5W reverse wireless support.
The phone sports a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a variable refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz. Peak brightness reaches 3,500 nits. The bezels are just 1.18mm thin, and the device includes an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. It has a flat aluminum frame and is rated IP68 for water and dust resistance.
Camera specs include a triple 50MP rear setup: ultrawide (17mm), main (23mm) with the Light Hunter 950 sensor, and telephoto (60mm) with 2.6x optical zoom. The front camera has been upgraded to 50MP.
Thermal performance is supported by a 4,497mm² vapor chamber. Storage options include 12GB or 16GB of RAM, paired with 256GB or 512GB of internal storage. The phone runs on HyperOS 3 and comes in black, white, blue, and pink.

Pricing in China starts at CNY 4,499 for the base model. Pre-orders are open, with shipments beginning September 27.
