Grab launches P2P carpool service for Metro Manila commuters

It offers fixed stops and an ₱80 fare at 10-minute intervals.

Grab Philippines has started a new carpool service called Sabay Sakay, working with the Department of Transportation (DOTr). The pilot program runs along the Pasig-Makati route and aims to reduce traffic during peak hours.

The service uses a point-to-point setup, with fixed stops at Ayala Malls The 30th in Pasig and Ayala Triangle Gardens in Makati. Morning trips run from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., while evening trips go from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Each ride costs ₱80. Passengers go to the pickup point, confirm their destination with an attendant, and pay using a QR code, no cash needed. Cars leave every 10 minutes.

Grab says the goal is to move more people using fewer vehicles. Staff are on-site to help with boarding and make sure trips follow the set route. Stay tuned for updates.
