HUAWEI Mate 70 Air debuts with a large display and a slim design

Key features include a slim design, 7" screen, Kirin chip, 6,500mAh battery, and HarmonyOS 5.1.

HUAWEI has launched the Mate 70 Air in China, the latest premium phone to join the slim and lightweight craze. The device features a large 7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 2760×1320 resolution. Even with its big display, the phone stays thin at just 6.6mm and weighs 208 grams.

Inside, the Mate 70 Air runs on HarmonyOS 5.1 and offers AI-powered features. It comes in two versions: one with 12GB of RAM and a Kirin 9020A chip, and another with 16GB of RAM powered by the Kirin 9020B.

Battery life is a key highlight. The phone packs a 6,500mAh battery and supports 66W wired charging and 5W reverse charging. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and Beidou satellite support. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner is included.

The rear camera setup includes a 50MP main lens with OIS, a 12MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 1.5MP color sensor. On the front, there’s a 10.7MP camera for selfies and video calls.

The Mate 70 Air comes in three colors: Gold and silver, White, and Black. Prices start at CNY 4,199 (around ₱34,850 / $590) for the 12GB+256GB and go up to CNY 5,199 (₱43,150 / $730) for the 16GB+512GB model.
