Smart Communications has been named by Ookla as the provider of the best mobile video experience in the Philippines. The award measures how well users stream videos on their smartphones, looking at video start time, playback without buffering, and full HD resolution.
Based on Ookla’s Speedtest Intelligence data for Q3–Q4 2025, Smart scored 78.60, the highest among local operators. This means Smart and TNT subscribers enjoy faster loading, smoother playback, and clearer HD streaming on apps like YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, and Netflix.
Filipinos are among the top video watchers in the world. A report from Meltwater and We Are Social shows that people in the Philippines spend 20.48 hours weekly watching online videos, second only to Kenya. Smart says this recognition reflects its ongoing work to improve its network to meet the growing demand.
Smart also recently won Ookla’s Best Mobile Latency award. Latency refers to the delay between sending and receiving data, which is important for real-time activities like streaming, gaming, and video calls.
