OPPO reportedly working on 8.8-inch Pad Mini with flagship chipset

OPPO is reportedly working on a new compact tablet called the Pad Mini. According to Digital Chat Station, the device will feature an 8.8-inch display with a high refresh rate.

Unlike most small tablets, this one is also rumored to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip, the same processor found in most flagship phones.

The Pad Mini will likely come in several memory options, starting at 8GB+256GB and going up to 16GB+512GB. It is also expected to launch in three colors: Monet Purple, Dawn Gold, and Mocha Brown.

For cameras, leaks point to a 13MP rear sensor and an 8MP front sensor, enough for video calls and casual photos. Moreover, reports say the compact tablet will support 67W fast charging, though the actual battery size has not yet been revealed.

OPPO is expected to announce the Pad Mini in April in China, alongside the Find X9 Ultra. There are also hints that OnePlus might release a rebranded version for other markets.

If true, the Pad Mini would be one of the few compact tablets to offer flagship-level performance. The big question is whether OPPO will bring it outside China.
