Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 renewed for Season 2

Netflix has confirmed that Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 is coming back for a second season. The animated spinoff made a strong debut, landing in the Top 10 and ranking among the top 15 animated launches on the platform.

Meanwhile, the main Stranger Things series continues to pull massive numbers with 1.5 billion cumulative views across Seasons 1–5.

Season 2 picks up in Hawkins during the winter of 1985. The Hawkins Investigators Club faces a new paranormal threat tied to abandoned silver mines and a strange blue flower first seen in the Upside Down. The story builds directly on Season 1’s cliffhanger.

The core group, Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Max, are back, along with newcomer Nikki Baxter. Season 1 featured a wide voice cast, including Brett Gipson as Hopper, Jeremy Jordan as Steve Harrington, and Robert Englund as Cosmo.

Behind the scenes, Eric Robles (Glitch Techs) continues as showrunner with Flying Bark Productions. The Duffer Brothers, Hilary Leavitt, Shawn Levy, and Dan Cohen will remain as executive producers.

Fans can also expect more collectibles and tie-ins. Jazwares action figures, Funko Pop! Vinyls, and even a McDonald’s Happy Meal promo (in select regions), are part of the lineup. The official soundtrack leans into ’80s nostalgia with synth-heavy tracks.
