Final Fantasy 7 Revelation announced for Spring 2027

Square Enix has officially revealed the title of the third and final entry in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy: Final Fantasy 7 Revelation. The announcement was made during Summer Game Fest, with director Naoki Hamaguchi confirming a Spring 2027 release.

The game will launch simultaneously across all platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. This marks the first time the remake series will release everywhere at once.

Hamaguchi explained that the theme of resolve drives the story, as Cloud and his companions face their destinies and prepare for the final battle. He also addressed concerns about performance, assuring fans that supporting multiple platforms will not lower standards.

According to him, the team already optimizes for mid-range systems like PS5 and Steam Deck, so expanding to more platforms does not compromise the experience.

“I’m beyond excited to announce FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION, launching simultaneously across all platforms in Spring 2027. I’m truly grateful to our fans who believed in this story and supported us for so many years,” said Hamaguchi.

“In this title, centered around ‘resolve,’ Cloud and his companions will confront their respective convictions and continue their journey towards the final battle that will determine the planet’s fate.”
