US–PH AI hub gains momentum with Pax Silica push

The US–PH AI hub gains momentum as the government expects major gains from the Pax Silica initiative. The project is centered in New Clark City and the Luzon Economic Corridor. It is designed to secure the AI and semiconductor supply chain while creating hundreds of thousands of jobs.

The government is working to finalize a framework deal within the year, with Foxconn lined up as an anchor investor. The electronics giant is expected to pour in billions and generate thousands of jobs.

The Philippines formally joined the US-led Pax Silica coalition of 14 states in April. The alliance aims to strengthen global AI and semiconductor supply chains, with the Philippines positioned as a key partner. The hub will rise on a 4,000-acre site, backed by incentives under the CREATE MORE Act, including lower corporate taxes for investors.

Officials believe the initiative will reduce the need for Filipinos to work abroad with more opportunities in the country. The project also supports government goals to attract foreign investment and accelerate digital adoption.

The next step is the signing of the framework agreement, which will set the stage for construction and investor commitments. Once operational, the hub is expected to transform the Philippines into a regional leader in AI and semiconductors.
