Xiaomi has rolled out the Redmi 17 5G and 4G, bringing big displays, massive batteries, and a fresh RGB light feature. The new phones target budget buyers who want long battery life and practical extras.
Both models have a 6.9-inch IPS LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and gaming. On the back, the camera module has a programmable RGB light that works as a charging and notification indicator.
Battery life is the main selling point. Each unit packs a 7,500mAh battery with 45W fast charging and 22.5W reverse charging. This means the phones can also power other devices.
Performance differs between the two versions. The Redmi 17 5G runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chip with UFS 2.2 storage, while the Redmi 17 4G uses a MediaTek Helio G91-Ultra with eMMC 5.1 storage.
Both models come with a 50MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera, enough for everyday photos and video calls.
Other features include IP64 dust and water resistance, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, NFC, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Color choices vary: the 4G model comes in Black, Deep Blue, Lotus Purple, and Oak Green, while the 5G version is available in Black, Deep Blue, and Vivid Orange.
Pricing starts at MYR 669 (~₱10,100 / $164) for the 4G model and MYR 769 (~₱11,600 / $190) for the 5G variant.
