Latest Windows 11 update causes game crashes and system errors

The Windows 11 KB5121003 update, which rolled out on August 11, is causing game crashes and system errors. The patch was supposed to fix more than 400 security flaws but instead created new problems for many users.

Players report login errors, display glitches, and random system crashes. Games like ARC Raiders and The Finals are among the most affected. Developers traced the issue to a driver conflict, and the temporary fix is to disable the driver using Command Prompt.

Uninstalling the update brings back stability, but it also removes the security fixes. That leaves users with a tough choice: keep the update and deal with crashes, or remove it and risk exposure to hundreds of vulnerabilities.

Microsoft has confirmed the issue and started an investigation. The company is asking users to send reports through the Feedback Hub to help speed up a solution.

For now, gamers and everyday users will need to wait for Microsoft’s next patch to balance stability with security.
