Xiaomi HyperOS 4 brings iPhone sync, file sharing, cross-device control

Xiaomi’s HyperOS 4 is bringing new features that connect Xiaomi phones with Apple devices like iPhones, iPads, and Macs. The update first launched on the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max and will roll out to more devices starting October 15.

With HyperOS 4, you can now share photos, files, contacts, and web pages across Xiaomi and Apple devices. Cloud photo albums are also synced so that you can view them on both platforms. Notifications and instant messages also work across devices, letting you reply without switching phones.

The update adds desktop integration. On Mac and iPad, you can control your Xiaomi phone using Xiaomi’s connectivity app. You will need a shared Xiaomi account and compatible software versions to do this, though.

Xiaomi is also testing an AirDrop-style tool for quick file transfers between Xiaomi phones and Apple devices. Smart Share could also allow closer links between Xiaomi phones and Apple computers.

Right now, these features are in testing on the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. Xiaomi has not confirmed if all models will get the Apple integration or which Apple devices will be supported.

For users, Xiaomi connecting its ecosystem with Apple means easier sharing, synced notifications, and cross-device control. A wider rollout is expected after mid-October.
