Design

The BlueAnt Pump Mini is an in-ear headphone designed for athletic activities. It features an avant-garde design that befits its sports brand. The color and design aesthetics all add up to give it a rugged and handsome appeal.

The buds are made of a good quality plastic covered by a silicone rubber material. It looks and feels tough, and at the same time soft for that added comfort. The build quality is excellent. It feels very sturdy, despite its light weight.

Built for athletics, the Pump Mini has an IP54 rating, making it sweat-proof and resistant to dust and splashes of water.

The in-ears features a SuperFit system through its silicone stabilizers. It is designed to keep it in place while exercising or running. It is very soft and very comfortable to wear. I like the fit and feel of it. Take care to choose the correct fitting stabilizer and eartip. I found that it can easily fall out if the fit isn’t right.

Performance

The BlueAnt Pump Mini has good sound quality. Vocals are decent with acceptable clarity. It has good mids and crisp highs. The in-ears can get pretty loud as well. But cranking the volume to high causes distortion in some tracks. The bass is nice and loud. It is strong enough to get you pumped up for the gym. But I  find that it sometimes overpowers the rest of the track.

The in-ears offer good noise isolation. It doesn’t completely drown out the noise, but does a good job muffling surrounding sound (just the way I like it).

The Pump Mini has a built in mic for hands-free calls. It’s performance is passable. I hear the caller loud and clear, but there are times when the other party has a hard time hearing me because the mic picks up the surrounding sounds as well.

Battery life is quite good. I get almost 6 hours out of it in a single charge. It charges in an hour through a micro USB port.

Conclusion

The BlueAnt Pump Mini is a good option for those who enjoy listening to musc while hitting the gym or the track. It looks good, and is sweat proof, and dust and water resistant. It is very comfortable to wear, it’s very light, and it sounds good.

The BlueAnt Pump Mini retails for P4,750.
