i’m Watch is an Android-Based Smartwatch

Android is really becoming very popular nowadays.  We know it’s on phones and tablets but did you know that it’s going to be on watches soon?

Meet I’m Watch, describes by maker Blue Sky as the first “smartwatch” in the world.

i’m Watch with Android is visionary.  And it is so ahead of time that if you look back you see the future.

The most common operating system in the world with performances never seen before on such a small device. Intuitive interface, rock-solid stability and amazing functionalities. The operating system is the heart of i’m Watch.  A surprising result that will leave you lost for words. It only takes a few steps to learn how to use it: it is simple and intuitive. Just touch, drag, swipe or pinch to use all the functionalities or open any of the apps, preinstalled or downloadable from i’m store.

Incredible functions for the first smartwatch in the world.

Although the Android-powered i’m Watch  doesn’t have a phone functionality, it can remotely control a smartphone and handle calls, show you incoming texts and even Facebook notifications.  Supported phones are Droids, iPhone, BlackBerries and WP7 phones.

The i’m Watch runs on a Freescale i.MX233 CPU with up to 454MHz clock speed and 64MB RAM.  It measures 55 x 40 x 9mm and weighs 70g and features a 1.54″ TFT with 240×240 pixels resolution (220ppi) display.  It uses Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and is powered by a 350mAh battery.  The i’m Watch has two configurations:  the i’m Color, which is the cheap version made of plastic, and i’m Jewel, the more expensive version made of titanium or gold.

The i’m Color (plastic) retails for €249 while the i’m Jewel (titanium casing) is priced at €599.  Other i’m Jewel options are Yellow/Pink/Black gold that runs for €11,999 and the White Gold & Diamonds that costs a hefty €14,999.

These watches will be available starting November.  Go here if you want to pre-order.
