Samsung Galaxy M Unveiled, Features Super AMOLED Screen

If you want to experience a Super AMOLED-toting phone but is unfortunately short on budget, this might be the chance for you to own one.  Samsung has just made an announcement about a new handset offering called the Samsung Galaxy M.   There’s already the Samsung Galaxy R that’s cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy S II but the Samsung Galaxy M is even cheaper.  It will retail for about US$500 which is already quite attractive for a Super AMOLED phone.

As to specs, the Galaxy M will carry a single-core 1GHz processor and a three megapixel camera.  These are lower than the dual-core CPU and 5-megapixel camera on the Galaxy R but these are tradeoffs for the lower price.  The Galaxy R only has a Super LCD though so you can’t really say that you are getting an inferior phone in the Galaxy M.  The phone will run Android 2.3 Gingerbread and will have Bluetooth 3.0, 4GB internal memory and 1650 mAh battery.  It’s quite thin at just 9.9mm although it’s not as thin as the Galaxy S II.  What the Galaxy M has that’s better than the Galaxy S II, however, is the metal body.  The Galaxy M will be available in Platinum Silver, Blue Black and Lavender Pink.

Samsung Galaxy M Specifications

  • 4-inch Super AMOLED screen
  • 1GHz single core processor
  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread
  • 3 megapixel camera
  • 4GB internal memory
  • Bluetooth 3.0
  • 9.9mm thickness
  • 1650 mAh battery
