While Filipinos are mourning the loss of thousands in the hands of supertyphoon Yolanda, some Singaporeans are apparently happy about what happened, and some even think the damage should have been more. In a user forum for Hardwarezone Singapore, comments against Filipinos are too racist and too insensitive they warranted a post in this blog just to make Filipinos aware that some people in other parts of the world wish us even more harm.
The thread title refers to the news that 10,000 people are feared dead in typhoon Yolanda’s wake. One comment says that this figure is “too few”. Another user made a very hurtful image of Filipinos, saying:
The Pinoys on the whole choose to be uncouth, uncivilized, intellectually backward and morally repugnant creatures who are fond of cheating and backstabbing. We can abuse them for that.

@Leian It is a racist remark no matter how much you try to analyze it. But I just hope the author of that post realize that being uncouth, uncivilized, intellectually backward and morally repugnant can apply to any individual or groups of individual regardless of race and nationality.
To the author of that post, I’m sorry that you had a negative experience with Filipinos. But I’d like to point out that what you claim does not apply to every Filipino. Perhaps the ones you see who are morally repugnant (ex: sex workers) would go through unethical extremes to provide food for their family. Sometimes we do not see the bigger picture and so I appeal to you and to anyone who reads this:
do not judge us (or any nationality for that matter) as a whole, just so it will be easy for you to drive a point. If you must judge, question the motive and then criticize the action. The world will be a better place if we stop to think about what happened first before saying something hurtful.
Just ignore this bunch of scum.
Whenever there is faceless anonymity on the Internet, some people choose to show their true colors – basically, these so-called “true blue patriotic Singaporeans” (hahaha! what rubbish!) are just scum who the rest of Singaporeans are ASHAMED to identify with.
Just like there are trolls on white supremacist forums and repugnant racists at all four corners of the earth, such scum of the earth will always surface and post inflammatory incitements to hatred while hiding behind a screen to satisfy their poor pathetic useless egos.
These are the locals who give Singapore a bad name, and most of them are so ballless they dare not even do anything, but moan and whine behind their sad pathetic screens. Can’t get a job? Lost your job to foreigners? You deserve it! Sad pathetic spineless fools. Posting rubbish on the forum during working hours and still wonder why you are out of a job.
The faster you ignore them and get on with life, the faster they will tire and go away.
All things said and done, there is such a thing as karma, and you can be sure people who incite and spread hatred and evil on this earth will have it come back to them in the end – that is a law as unshakeable as time itself.

But you did not quote the entire thing so you’re making the poster of that comment look bad… What he said was:

Please do not be selective in posting. You’re only spreading more hate if you do.
Also, posting articles about the “hate” messages of other races regarding what happened to the Philippines and Typhoon Haiyan is not helpful at all because we really don’t need this kind of thing right now. Spreading negativity will not help and you’re only giving the haters the attention they want by directing our attention to them, especially now that we are very emotional about the tragic event that has happened in our country.
Let us instead focus our attention more to how we can actually help.
