Flappy Bird earns $50K a day in ad revenues

Apparently, the simple yet challenging mobile game Flappy Bird earns $50,000 a day in ad revenues. Vietnamese developer of Flappy Bird, Dong Nguyen, revealed to The Verge in an interview that the is earning an average $50,000 per day from in-app ads. That’s $50,000! And the app, launched way back in May 2013, has only been on top of Google Play’s and the App Store’s charts for a month.

To those who have not heard of Flappy Bird before, it is a simple game where you control a pixelated bird by tapping the screen to make it flap its wings (hence the name). The goal of this side scrolling challenge is to go over as many pipes as you can to earn medals. If you touch any of the pipes, you start all over again.

The app has been downloaded 50 million times and already has countless reviews and comments. Nguyen stated that they are still not sure why the game got where it was today.

The highest score I have so far is 15. If you still haven’t tried the game, hit the links below to test your patience.
