Google has begun rolling out Android 15 to Pixel devices, bringing several new features aimed at enhancing security, privacy, and user experience.
One of the primary focuses of Android 15 is bolstering security. It brings Theft Detection Lock, which leverages AI to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive data in case the device is stolen; and Remote Lock which can lock a device from a phone number.
Additionally, users can now create a separate “private space” on their devices. This area allows for storing sensitive apps and data, like social media or banking apps.
Beyond security, Android 15 also introduces several enhancements for large-screen devices. Users can now easily pin and unpin the taskbar on their foldables and tablets.
Other notable improvements include enhanced low-light photography capabilities, improved satellite messaging support, simplified login processes using Passkeys, and the new Audio Magic Eraser which can reduce distracting sounds in videos.
The Android 15 rollout includes users in the Philippines. Take note that Pixel phones will retain 5G connectivity. However, there is still no official support for these devices in the country.
