Google rolled out the September Pixel Drop with new features like Gboard scam detection, VIP widgets, and Pixel Watch updates.
The update adds VIP widgets so you can call or text important contacts with one tap. A floating overlay makes switching between contacts faster, while notification badges help you keep track of messages.
Scam protection is a key part of this release. Gboard now shows inline warnings in the U.S. when it detects risky text. Scam detection also expands to chat app notifications in more regions, giving users wider coverage against fraud.
Meanwhile, Pixel Watch owners get smoother Raise to Talk, better one-handed gesture support across more apps, and bug fixes for daily use. These improve how the watch responds and make it easier to handle quick actions.
Google also added a Harry Potter tie-in. Pixel users can access customization packs celebrating Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions on Audible. Eligible users get a two-month Audible free trial.
