MANILA, JULY 2014: Lamudi is officially the most visited property portal in the Philippines, with the website now the country’s number one real estate platform for traffic.

Lamudi Philippines has overtaken its competitors in just six months after officially launching locally. Lamudi, the global property portal for the emerging markets, arrived in the Philippines in January.

Lamudi is now the Philippines’ leading online property portal in terms of visitors and traffic. Elsewhere in Asia, Lamudi is market leader in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Myanmar for number of online listings.

Co-founder and Managing Director of Lamudi Philippines, Jacqueline van den Ende, said: “Our early success in the Philippines just goes to show the huge demand that exists here for high-quality online property listings. An increasing number of Filipinos are looking for property to buy or rent online, and they are turning to Lamudi as their platform of choice.

After just a few months of operation in the region, Lamudi is now well on track to becoming Asia’s number one real estate marketplace.”

Launched globally in late 2013, Lamudi now hosts over half a million international property listings covering 28 countries in Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.

Last month the company launched an Android app for house-hunters in these emerging markets to find property to buy or rent on the go.

Lamudi’s Global Co-Founder and Managing Director, Kian Moini, said: “The pace of our growth just shows how strongly people are responding to Lamudi. We have seen incredible demand for our service in each of our markets, including those where high-quality online property listings are a relatively new phenomenon.

Lamudi started as a small, core team in our Berlin HQ late last year and it has become an extensive international network. Our goal now is to be market leader in each of our countries within a short time. Having such a diverse team globally allows us to be experts in many fields.”

Earlier this year, the company received $7 million USD in investment to grow its Asian operations, including funds from the investment arm of international multi-sector retailer Tengelmann Group.

In May, Lamudi launched in a further seven countries across Asia, Africa and the Middle East. The launch in Sri Lanka, Jordan, the Ivory Coast, Mozambique, Madagascar, Mauritius and Zimbabwe brought the number of countries where Lamudi is active to 28.

Lamudi.com.ph, which started operations in January this year, has over 50,000 residential and commercial property listings from developers and PRC-licensed brokers. The company has active offices in Manila, Cebu and Davao.
