Nokia brand might be dropped by Microsoft

Sad news. Microsoft might be planning to drop the Nokia brand from it’s smartphones. According to reports, there’s a rumor that claims the Lumia 830 and Lumia 730 will be the last ones to carry the Nokia brand name.

The image above is said to be part of an alleged leaked internal document from MS. It mentions the removal of the Nokia branding from Microsoft Mobile’s devices during this year’s Holiday Campaign. So the next iteration of smartphones will most probably be called Lumia or Microsoft Lumia.

Of course, like all rumors, please take this with a healthy grain of salt. As we all know by now, companies regularly change their minds, depending on their current situation (I’m looking at you iPhone 6 Plus).

If this is true though, then sad news indeed. We are about to see the end of a once proud and innovative company that, at one time, changed the mobile phone industry as we knew it.
