Xioami and Chinese internet TV company Youku Tudou announced that it will broadcast Xiaomi’s January 15 launch event live to it’s fans worldwide. This is the first time the Chinese tech giant has organized a live stream of their launch event.
There have been a lot of online chatter as to what device is going to be launched – a Mi5 or the Redmi Note 2? But if rumors are to be believed, it could very well be the latter. According to GizmoChina, there are strong indications that the phone in question will be the Redmi Note 2. No one really knows what we’re going to see tomorrow. All we know at this point is that its going to be really thin and large.
The launch event will begin at 2PM (Beijing time GMT+8). A link to the live broadcast will be posted on Xiaomi’s homepage (http://www.mi.com/index.html) and on their official Weibo account (http://weibo.com/xiaomikeji), as well as on Youku Tudou (http://www.youku.com/).
The stream will also be hosted on Mi Singapore (www.mi.com/sg), with an English-language discussion accompanying the Chinese-language stream. You can visit Mi Singapore (www.mi.com/sg) on January 15 at 2pm for a link to the video and discussion.
The Redmi Note 2 is rumored to come with a 5.7-inch 1080p display, a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset, Adreno 306 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16/32GB or storage, LTE, 13MP main camera with dual LED flash, and a 5MP front camera. It might have a curved glass body as well. It will be powered by a 3,600 mAh battery, and will run MIUI 6.
