Huawei launches its latest flagship, the Huawei Mate 9, in the Philippines. The phone features dual cameras, a large battery and Android 7.0 Nougat.

The Huawei Mate 9 features a large 5.9-inch display on a body that is no larger than an iPhone 7 Plus. With the help of really small bezels around the screen, a slim profile and the curved edges, Huawei was able to minimize the phone’s bulk and came out with a sleek looking flagship.
Under the hood, you have Huawei’s own Hisilicon Kirin 960 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and a Mali-G71 MP8 graphics chip. It has 64GB of internal storage supported by a microSD card slot that can accommodate up to 256GB via the second SIM Slot.
As for the cameras, Huawei once again worked with Leica for the phone’s dual camera sensor setup. Like the P9, the Mate 9 boasts two sensors — this time a 20MP monochrome sensor and a 12MP RGB sensor. The two sensors work together to produce a bokeh effect, as well as provide lossless 2 times zoom. There is also an improved optical image stabilization system and a 4-1 Hybrid Auto-focus system that features laser focus, phase detection auto-focus (PDAF), depth focus and contrast auto-focus (CAF). The front camera uses an 8MP sensor with f1.9.
Finally, the Huawei Mate 9 packs a 4,000 mAh high-density battery with SuperCharge technology. The company claims it can provide up to 2 days of usage. The phone is powered by Android 7.0 Nougat with Huawei’s EMUI 5.0 UI on top.
The Huawei Mate 9 has a retail price of P31,990. It is now available in all Huawei Experience Stores nationwide.
