Motorola officially launches the mid-range Moto Z2 Play in Philippines. Priced at Php24,999, the phone features an octa-core Snapdragon 626 processor, 4GB RAM and Moto Mods compatibility.

The Moto Z2 Play features design elements found on members of the Moto Z series (be sure to check our review of the Moto Z here). This is in part due to Motorola’s commitment to sustain the innovative Moto Mod system. It has an aluminum body with a thickness of just 6mm. And it retains the large camera hump at the back along with the magnetic Moto Mod pins which now has a matte finish.
Inside the Moto Z2 Play beats a 2.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and an Adreno 506 graphics chip. It has 64GB of storage, expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card.
As for its cameras, the Z2 Play packs a 12MP sensor on the rear with a f1.7 lens, PDAF, laser AF and dual LED flash. While the 5MP sensor on the front has a f2.2 wide angle lens, dual LED flash and 1080p video recording.
Like its predecessor, the smartphone still has the 3.5mm audio jack despite its thin body. But unlike it, this one has a smaller 3,000mAh battery. It runs on stock Android 7.1.1 Nougat with the addition of some useful Moto apps and functionality.
The Moto Z2 Play has a retail price of Php24,999. It will be available in Moto Concept Stores, kiosks and retail partners starting July 21, 2017. From the date of availability until August 31, 2017, the smartphone will come with freebies that include a Moto Style Shell Moto Mod, a protective metal bumper case, and a selfie stick.
