Yahoo released a new group chat app called Squirrel on Google Play. Its a fresh new take on instant messaging.

The app is not yet available to everyone, and is currently invite only. Squirrel is Yahoo’s new take on group chat apps. It allows users to organize chat rooms with individual or team functionalities.
Chat rooms can be either public or private, and lets users share files and photos with the other chat participants. It also has a Blast function to get everyone’s attention in a chat room, and a Mentions function if uses want the attention of just one or more people.
Squirrel looks like a fresh new take on messaging apps, but it will have to compete against more established and accessible ones like the Facebook Messenger, Viber, Whatsapp, and more.
