OPPO’s vice president, Shen Yiren, recently announced that the company will be launching a smartphone with 10x lossless zoom sometime April.
The upcoming flagship, according to Yiren, will have no camera bumps, giving it a much sleeker body. It will also come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor and a 4,065mAh battery.
Unfortunately, no other information about its specs were released.
To achieve 10x lossless zoom, OPPO used a periscope design and D-cut lenses. It uses a triple-lens camera structure, combining a 48MP main camera with a 120-degree wide-angle lens and a telephoto lens. Together with OPPO’s imaging software, all these work together to achieve a focal length of 16mm to 160mm.
