After much hype and a series of leaks, the Huawei P30 and the P30 Pro are finally official. The flagships offer upgraded optics and interesting internals.
The Huawei P30 comes with a 6.1-inch 19.5:9 full HD+ OLED display, an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor, 6GB RAM, and 128GB of storage. It has three Leica cameras at the back, namely, 40MP + 16MP + 8MP, and a 32MP selfie shooter. The telephoto lens maxes out at 30x digital zoom. The phone is also powered by a 3650mAh battery with Huawei’s SuperCharge.
The Huawei P30 Pro, on the other hand, comes with a 6.47-inch full HD+ OLED display, a dewdrop notch with a 32MP selfie camera, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. It has an octa-core HiSIlicon Kirin 980 processor paired with 8GB RAM and 128/256/512GB storage. Battery is set at 4200mAh with a 40W SuperCharge, 15W wireless charging, and reverse charging.

As for its cameras, the P30 Pro has four at the back — three Leicas consisting of 40MP main camera with f/1.6 lens, a 16MP camera with f/2.2 ultra-wide lens,, and an 8MP 3x telephoto; and a Huawei Time-of-Flight (TOF) depth sensing camera. Digital zoom maxes out at 50x.
Interestingly, Huawei removed the earpiece on the P30 Pro, and replaced it with an electromagnetic levitation speaker that uses vibrations to generate sound.
As for the Huawei P30 series’ prices, here’s the breakdown:
- Huawei P30 6GB + 128GB = EUR 799 (~PHP 47,500)
- Huawei P30 Pro 8GB + 128GB = EUR 999 (~PHP 59,400)
- Huawei P30 Pro 8GB + 256GB = EUR 1,099 (~PHP 65,400)
- Huawei P30 Pro 8GB + 512GB = EUR 1,249 (~PHP 74,300)
