Apple has recently updated its MacBook lineup, and removed the 2017 MacBook Air and the 12-inch MacBook Pro from its website. In its place are two new MacBooks.
New MacBook Air
The latest MacBook Air has arrived in the Philippines. And it brings with it new features such as the Retina Display with True Tone and updated internals.
True Tone is a feature first introduced on the iPad Pro. It made its way to the iPhone. And now it’s on the MacBook. The feature automatically adjusts the color temperature of the display, depending on the lighting conditions to make the viewing experience more comfortable.
Apple listed the price of the updated or new MacBook Air at PHP 64,990 for the 128GB model, and PHP 76,990 for the 256GB model. It is now available for purchase.
New MacBook Air specs:

New MacBook Pro
Apple is also bringing the new MacBook Pro to the Philippines. This one comes with a Retina Display with TrueTone, a new Touch Bar, Touch ID, and updated specs. There are two variants, a 13-inch and 15-inch model. The laptops come with up to 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processors, up to 16GB RAM, and up to 512GB storage.
The prices of the 13-inch variants are:
- PHP 77,990 – 1.4GHz Quad-Core Processor, 128GB Storage, 2x Thunderbolt 3 Ports
- PHP 89,990 – 1.4GHz Quad-Core Processor, 256GB Storage, 2x Thunderbolt 3 Ports
- PHP 107,990 – 2.4GHz Quad-Core Processor, 256GB Storage, 4x Thunderbolt 3 Ports
- PHP 119,990 – 2.4GHz Quad-Core Processor, 512GB Storage, 4x Thunderbolt 3 Ports
And here are the prices of the 15-inch variants:
- PHP 141,990 – 2.6GHz 6-Core Processor, 256GB Storage, 4x Thunderbolt 3 Ports
- PHP 165,990 – 2.3GHz 8-Core Processor, 512GB Storage, 4x Thunderbolt 3 Ports

Before you decide to purchase, take note that the two new models come with Apple’s butterfly switch keyboards, not the new scissor switched ones. They did promise a repair warranty in case it becomes problematic.
