ASUS recently unveiled its latest flagship, the ROG Phone II. The handset comes with all the bells and whistles you’d expect from a top-of-the-line gaming smartphone.
On paper, the ROG Phone II looks very good, packing features and top-of-the-line specs like crazy. This is ASUS most impressive smartphone yet. Now, let’s go over its specs and see why.
The ROG Phone II retains its gaming vibe design with an aggressive and industrial aesthetic found on gaming PCs and accessories.

Up front, it features a 6.59-inch full HD+ AMOLED display that boasts the world’s first 120Hz/1ms refresh rate with Delta-E<1 color accuracy and a 49ms touch latency. A quick Google reveals the Delta-E of zero means perfect color, so having less than one must mean almost perfect color rendition.
Inside, the ROG Phone II is powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 855+ processor (more about that HERE), up to 12GB RAM, and up to 512GB UFS 3.0 storage. The CPU has a clock speed of 2.96GHz, while the Adreno 640 GPU can run up to 675MHz. It also has an updated GameCool II 3D vapor-chamber cooling system to keep over heating at bay.
To sustain all the power, the phone also features a large 6,000mAh battery with a 30W HyperCharge fast charging support. It can be charged on its side or through the USB Type-C port.
As for its cameras, the ROG Phone II has 48MP + 13MP dual rear cameras, and a 24MP selfie shooter.

Other features include an in-display fingerprint scanner, face recognition, DTS Headphone:X Ultra stereo speakers, AirTrigger II Ultrasonic Sensors, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Aside from the new gaming phone, ASUS ROG also introduced updated accessories to go with it. There’s the TwinDock II and the ROG Kunai Gamepad.
At this point, ASUS is keeping mum about the price. But I’m expecting it to start at around PHP 50,000++.
As for availability in the Philippines, it’s most likely coming here since the first one was sold locally.
