Huawei recently announced EMUI 10 at the Huawei Developer Conference in China. Based on Google’s Android Q, the latest OS update features a new look and improved performance.
One of the major changes to expect from EMUI 10 are the new app icons. It has been refreshed, looking more rounder with more animations. Huawei also added a system wide dark mode which will work well with their AMOLED equipped flagships. The dark mode can affect third party apps as well.

For performance, EMUI 10 comes with an improved Extended Read-Only File System or EROFS. The current iteration already provides up to 20% faster read speeds. The newer version promises to be faster and smoother with less latency when app switching.
There are also more clock styles, calendar, and additional options for the always on display setting, in addition to improved cross-device collaboration features.

So, which devices will get EMUI 10 first? The Huawei P30 Pro is first in line to receive the OS beta build, starting September 8, 2019. It will be followed by the rest of the P30 series, the Mate 20 series, the Honor View 20, and the Honor Magic 2 on a later date.
