After two years of waiting, the POCO F2 Pro has finally arrived, ready to take the title “flagship killer.” The handset offers an affordable price with powerful internals.
To be labeled a flagship killer, two factors are usually considered — price and specs. And it appears the F2 Pro qualifies for both.
Let’s take a look at the price first. The POCO F2 Pro looks to be affordable with the 6GB + 128GB model priced at EUR 499 (PHP 27,300 / USD 542), while the 8GB + 256GB model is priced at EUR 599 (PHP 32,700 / USD 650). You can pre-order from either in AliExpress or Gearbest.
For the specs, well its pretty flagship-y. The POCO F2 Pro comes with Qualcomm’s top-end Snapdragon 865 processor. This is the most powerful processor for Android at the moment that also features updatable GPU drivers (which means it can further improve).

On-board, there’s 6GB or 8GB RAM. For storage, there’s 128GB or 256GB options of the faster UFS 3.1 variety. And yes, there microSD card slot has been omitted.
At the front, we have a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint scanner and 2400 x 1080 resolution. It has a standard 60Hz refresh rate, but the touch sampling rate was boosted to 180Hz. For those asking, the sampling rate is related to how fast the phone reacts to taps and touches.

For the cameras, there’s a quad setup in the rear. The 64 main camera is backed by a Sony IMX686 sensor. The secondary cameras include a 13MP ultra-wide, a 5MP telemacro (that’s 2x zoom for the tele part and a focusing distance of 3-7cm for macro), and a 2MP depth sensor. Selfies are handled by a 20MP pop-up camera.
At this point, there are no news yet if the POCO F2 Pro will come to the Philippines.
