OPPO announced today a handful of new fast charging solutions — 125W flash charge, 65W AirVOOC wireless flash charge, 50W mini SuperVOOC charger, and a 110W mini flash charger.

The 125W flash charge, in particular, is a breakthrough in fast charging technology. It is currently the fastest, using advanced encryption algorithms and temperature control regulators to make sure it is safe and efficient.

The 65W AirVOOC wireless flash charger allows users to charge faster compared to wired charging. The 50W mini SuperVOOC charger and the 110W flash charger which are both introduced for the first time, are new innovations of OPPO’s VOOC flash charge technology.

125W flash charge

The 125W flash charge uses direct charging technology that can, according to OPPO, charge a 4000mAh battery up to 41% in just 5 minutes and fully charge it in 20 minutes.

The charging solution uses three parallel charge pumps that share the power. OPPO also has safety protection features by adding 10 temperature sensors which monitor the charging status.

It is compatible with previous SuperVOOC and VOOC flash charge, as well as other brand’s fast charging solutions.

65W AirVOOC wireless flash charge

The 65W AirVOOC wireless flash charge uses an isolated charge pump technology and parallel dual-coil design for better efficiency and temperature control. This tech can fully charge a 4,000mAh battery in 30 minutes.

The technology has five-fold safety protection measures in addition to a foreign object detection function. It is also compatible with the Qi standard and provides users with a cable-free and super-fast charging experience.

High-power ultra-small charger series

OPPO also launched the world’s smallest and thinnest 50W mini SuperVOOC charger, and the 110W mini flash charger with a unique dual-level architecture.

The new charger was developed using a multi-radian curve processing that gave it a size close to a pocket Wifi device.

The 50W mini SuperVOOC charger is compatible with VOOC protocols, supports mainstream protocols like 27W PD and 50W PPS, and can charge a variety of devices including smartphones and laptops.

The 110W mini flash charger, on the other hand, operates the same with similar feature sets but with a slightly bigger (but still small) body.

With 5G looming in, the need for faster, more efficient, and safer charging solutions is critical. With this, OPPO promises to continue to improve and upgrade its VOOC flash charge platforms.

As of June 2020, the company has applied for more than 2,800 global patents for flash charging.
