Gmail and other Google services are down

Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Meet, and Google Voice are experiencing major service disruptions since early today.

Update 8/21/20: Google said the problem with GMail has been resolved.

According to reports, the issue is widespread, affecting countries in Europe, the US, and Asia, including the Philippines. Those affected will experience different issues, including the inability to send emails, attach files, or other connection errors.

The major concern here is Gmail, as the email service is heavily relied on by people as major communication channel.

According to Endgadget, Google has since found out about the problem and has been investigating the issue since early morning.

Google:

  • 8/20/20, 1:29 AM: We’re investigating reports of an issue with Gmail. We will provide more information shortly.
  • 8/20/20, 2:07 AM: We are continuing to investigate this issue. We will provide an update by 8/20/20, 4:00 AM detailing when we expect to resolve the problem.
