Sony PlayStation 5 to launch in the Philippines on Dec. 11, priced at Php 27,990

Finally, Sony is set to launch the PlayStation 5 (PS5) in the Philippines on December 11, 2020. The PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray is coming with a price tag of Php 27,990.

Unfortunately, that’s the only variant we’re officially getting. The PS5 Digital Edition and PS5 Media Remote variants are not coming over.

No matter, what’s important is we finally have a release date and price for the Philippines. You can get one soon and stop pretending. Besides, you can still purchase and download digital games on the Ultra HD Blu-ray model.

PlayStation 5 Launch Day Games and Accessories

PS5 exclusive titles from Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) Worldwide Studios will be priced at launch from Php 2,490 to PHP 3,490. Check out the list below:

  • Astro’s Playroom (Japan Studio) – pre-installed on PS5
  • Demon’s Souls (Bluepoint Games / Japan Studio) – Php 3,490
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales (Insomniac Games) – Php 2,490
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition (Insomniac Games) – Php 3,490
  • Sackboy A Big Adventure (Sumo Digital / XDEV) – PHP 2,990

SIE also announced the price for the following accessories that will launch alongside the PS5 console:

  • DualSense Wireless Controller (standalone) – Php 3,990
  • PULSE 3D wireless headset – with 3D audio support and dual noise-cancelling microphones Php 5,590
  • HD Camera – with dual 1080p lenses for gamers to broadcast themselves along with their epic gameplay moments Php 3,290
  • DualSense Charging Station – to conveniently charge two DualSense Wireless Controllers Php 1,690

Inside, the PS5 features a X86-64 AMD Ryzon Zen 2 CPU with 8 cores and 16 threads, clocked at up to 3.5GHz. Graphics are powered by a 10.3 TFLOPS AMD Radeon RDNA 2 engine with ray tracing acceleration, 16GB GDDR6 RAM, and 825GB on-board storage.

As for I/O, there’s an HDMI port, two USB-A ports, a USB-C port, and Ethernet port. It also supports Wi-Fi 802.11ax and Bluetooth 5.1.
