realme 8 5G set to launch in the PH on June 24

TL;DR: The realme 8 5G will launch in the Philippines on June 24, 2021.

True to its word of bringing 5G smartphones to young consumers, realme will introduce a new midrange 5G phone to the local market. The realme 8 5G is set to launch in the Philippines.

The launch event will be on June 24, 2021, 6PM, streamed on realme Philippines’ Facebook page, YouTube channel, and TikTok account.

Because of its naming convention, you may mistake the realme 8 5G for the realme 8 4G. But make no mistake, its a different device with a few similarities here and there.

The realme 8 5G features a MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G chipset with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. Instead of an AMOLED display, it has a 6.5-inch FHD IPS panel with a punch hole on the upper left that holds a 16MP selfie camera.

It also has a differently designed back panel, albeit having the same rectangular camera layout.

At the back, there’s a 48MP main shooter supported by two 2MP sensors for depth and macro. The phone also has a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging, a side fingerprint scanner, USB-C, and realme UI 2.0 on top of Android 11.

As for the price, well, you have to watch the livestream to find out. But, we do know that it will have a Php 1,500 discount on the first day of sale.
