Nothing phone (1) set to launch on July 12

Nothing, the company set up by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, is set to launch its first smartphone on July 12, 2022. The Nothing phone (1) follows the release of the Nothing Ear (1) TWS, the company’s first device.

Should you want to watch the launch event, it will be livestreamed on July 12 at 4:00 PM BST (that’s 11:00 PM in the Philippines).

Details about the Nothing phone (1) are sparse, but it is rumored to come with transparent elements in its design, illuminating light strips at the back, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor under the hood.

Last March, Nothing made available the Nothing Launcher. It’s still in beta, but the app can be installed on some Android devices. You can find it in the Play Store here.

With the smartphone, Nothing plans to create an ecosystem of interconnected smart devices, similar to what Apple and Huawei have built.
