Xiaomi to cease aftersales support for these phones

Xiaomi will cease to provide any official maintenance and aftersales services to these Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones.

In a statement, the company said these products are no longer in production, and that the parts needed for aftersales and maintenance services are no longer available, exceeding the legal supply period.

Most of these devices have been released in 2018, which means they were supported by the manufacturer for almost 4 years.

The following devices are no longer qualified for aftersales support and maintenance services:

  • Mi Max 3
  • Xiaomi Mi 8 Discovery Edition (Transparent variant)
  • Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint (Transparent and Non-transparent variants)
  • Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G
  • Mi Play
  • Redmi S2
  • Redmi 6 Pro

However, Xiaomi said that owners can still continue to enjoy the aftersales service of inspection, commissioning, cleaning, and maintenance of their devices. For replacement parts and repair, third-party services may be the only option left for them.
