ICYMI: Netflix outs The Sandman bonus episode ‘A Dream of a Thousand Cats’ and ‘Calliope’

In case you missed it, Netflix has released a bonus episode of The Sandman titled A Dream of a Thousand Cats and Calliope.

The two-part episode is based on two Neil Gaiman fan-favorite short stories with the same titles.

The first one is animated and voiced by a star studded cast including Sandra Oh (Killing Eve), Rosie Day (Living the Dream), David Gyasi (Interstellar), James McAvoy (X-Men film series), David Tennant (Doctor Who), Michael Sheen (The Twilight Saga), and Tom Wu (Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw).

While the other one is a live-action adaptation, featuring features Melissanthi Mahut (Eurovision) as the title character, as well as Arthur Darvill (Legends of Tomorrow), Kevin Harvey (Hidden), Amita Suman (Ackley Bridge), and Derek Jacobi (Gladiator).

The Sandman is a supernatural fantasy show based on a DC comic book with the same name, written by Neil Gaiman, who is known for his works that include novels, comic books, graphic novels, and more.

It stars Tom Sturridge, who plays Dream, the personification of dreams, who escaped after he was imprisoned by a mortal wizard and set about to reclaim his totems of power — a ruby, his sand, and his helm. It also stars Patton Oswalt, Boyd Holbrook, David Thewlis, Stephen Fry, Gwendoline Christie, and more.
