Netflix announced the debut of its live-action One Piece series to be sometime this year.
Recall that the anime’s Iive-action remake was teased way back in 2020. While there’s no specific release date mentioned, it looks like we’re finally nearing its debut in 2023.
A teaser was posted on Netflix Philippines’ official Instagram with Luffy (played by Iñaki Godoy) facing the sea with his fist raised in the air, along with the caption “Adventure is on the horizon. ONE PIECE sets sail in 2023.”
The cast also includes Emily Rudd as Nami, Mackenyu Arata as Roronoa Zoro, Jacob Gibson as Usopp, Peter Gadiot as Shanks, Morgan Davies as Koby, Vincent Regan as Garp, and Taz Skylar as Vinsmoke Sanji.
One Piece is undoubtedly one of the world’s most popular anime. The manga version is in fact best-selling series of all time, selling over 500 million copies globally.

The live-action series is co-produced with Tomorrow Studios, written by Steven Maeda of Lost and The X-Files, and Matt Owens of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Luke Cage.
It is executive produced by Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios (Cowboy Bebop, Snowpiercer, Hanna), and manga series author Eiichiro Oda.
