Netflix is making a One Piece live-action series

One of the world’s most popular anime is coming to Netflix. The streaming service is making a live action adaptation of One Piece

The streaming service has partnered with Tomorrow Studios and Shueisha to bring the popular pirate adventure story from Japan come to life. One Piece is one of the best-selling manga series of all time. Written by Eiichiro Oda, it has sold over 460 million copies world wide.

Co-produced with Tomorrow Studios, Netflix will start with a 10 episode live action series with the streaming service set to handle the physical production. The show will be written by Steven Maeda of Lost and The X-Files fame, and Matt Owens of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Luke Cage.

Executive producers include Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios (Cowboy Bebop, Snowpiercer, Hanna), and manga series author Eiichiro Oda.
