Netflix movies coming this summer 2026

Netflix has lined up comedies, thrillers, documentaries, and anime for summer 2026. The rollout starts in May and runs through August, with a few “coming soon” titles teased for later in the year.

There’s plenty of variety here, from lighthearted stories to darker thrillers. Here are the highlights.

Swapped – May 1
A buddy comedy about a small woodland creature (voiced by Academy Award–winner Michael B. Jordan) and a majestic bird (voiced by Juno Temple) — sworn enemies of the Valley — who suddenly swap bodies and must team up (while walking in each other’s feathers and fur) to survive the wildest adventure of their lives.

My Dearest Assassin – May 7
Hunted for her rare blood type, a young girl is raised by a family of assassins. When a vengeful enemy returns for her blood, she is determined to fight alongside the one she loves to claim her freedom once and for all.

Remarkably Bright Creatures – May 8
A widow (Sally Field) who works at a local aquarium finds joy again when she forms an unlikely bond with a giant Pacific octopus and a wayward young man who comes to town in search of family. Together, they uncover a mystery that will lead them to a life-changing discovery and restore their sense of wonder.

Marty, Life Is Short – May 12
Lawrence Kasdan delivers the definitive documentary on beloved comedian Martin Short. Using beautiful, intimate, never-before-seen archive footage alongside exclusive interviews, the documentary takes a look at one of the most influential comedians of a generation.

The Crash – May 15
A car carrying three young adults slams into a brick building at 100 miles per hour in Strongsville, Ohio, leaving two lives lost and one sole survivor. What first appears to be a tragic accident begins to look like a calculated crime scene.

Ladies First – May 22
A ladies’ man finds his life upended when he wakes up in a parallel world dominated by women. With the rules of engagement changed, he goes head-to-head with a fiery female colleague in a playful satire about what happens when the script is flipped.

Office Romance – June 5
Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein lead a raunchy romantic comedy about a secret office romance and the trouble two workaholics get in when they start thinking with their hearts.

Mexico 86 – June 5
When a last-minute chance to host the ’86 World Cup appears, a cunning Mexican bureaucrat cons his way through FIFA to beat the United States — but in a country of power games, every victory has a price.

I Am Frankelda – June 12
In 19th-century Mexico, Frankelda is a gifted writer whose dark tales are ignored and dismissed. When thrust into her subconscious, the very monsters she created come to life. Guided by a tormented prince, she must restore balance between fiction and reality before both realms collapse.

Voicemails for Isabelle – June 19
Jill copes with her sister’s death by leaving her voicemails chronicling her chaotic life. When the number is unknowingly reassigned, an elusive Austin real estate agent begins receiving the hilariously confessional messages.

The Whisper Man – August 28

The Ribbon Hero – August (TBA)
This anime film depicts the story of a lone hero who chooses to defy a harsh destiny, set in a delicately crafted world and brought to life through polished action by director Yuki Igarashi.

In the Hand of Dante – 2026
Follows the parallel lives of a New York author recruited by a mafia don to steal Dante’s Divine Comedy, and Dante in the 14th century seeking inspiration to write his most important work — each man unknowingly connected through time and their obsessive quest for love, beauty, and the divine.

The Debt Collector – 2026
After his time behind bars, a brutal former debt collector remains haunted by his guilt. Racing against a terminal illness, he returns to his old world to avenge injustices against victims of loan sharks and seek redemption for his past.

A Child of My Own – 2026
Alejandra fakes a pregnancy under societal pressure. What begins as a simple lie turns into a complex charade, unleashing a media scandal that won’t allow her to continue lying.

Canelo Álvarez Documentary – 2026
